Mission Statement

Aims and Objectives

The aims and objectives of the Association are to undertake the following:

(a) TO PROMOTE PUBLIC INTEREST by increasing consumer awareness, understanding, taste and consumption of speciality coffee.

(b) TO PROVIDE EDUCATION BY:

(1) Disseminating information based on research concerning speciality coffee growing, processing and preparation.

(2) Recommending a set of labelling guidelines to properly identify origin of label coffees in addition to proprietary brands and blends.

(c) TO ESTABLISH A COMMON FORUM by providing a time and place to meet for mutual exchange of information regarding ideas and problems.

(d) TO ENSURE A SENSE OF INDUSTRY PURPOSE by rendering any and all services to members which may lawfully help to increase the efficiency and general welfare of the speciality coffee industry.

(e) TO ENHANCE THE UNIFIED CHARACTER OF OUR INDUSTRY by co-operating with other trade groups and governmental agencies, both foreign and domestic, in the determination and enforcement of rules, trade practices, laws and projects for improving the conditions under which the speciality coffee industry renders service to the public.

(f) TO ENGAGE IN ANY OTHER LAWFUL ACTIVITY incidental or conducive to the attainment of the Association’s aims and objectives.

(g) TO ESTABLISH A CENTRAL QUALITY CONTROL COMMITTEE to determine the quality of green bean.

Specific objectives

(a) To acquire and distribute information as to the best manner of carrying on farming operations.

(b) To set up, promote and establish in the NSW coffee growing industry a system of grading produce which complies with or is compatible with recognised standards.
